What is Taiko Drumming? The word taiko in Japanese simply means drum. But kumi daiko refers to the art of ensemble taiko drumming, which has grown in popularity in the United States and now, worldwide. Taiko drumming can be very physically demanding due to the strength and stamina required to play large drums. Choreographic movements are also incorporated into the art form.
